OVERVIEW

Cantilevered or Single Ended Free-Flex® Pivots are a very popular type of flexure. This plus a wide range of applications allowed the creaton of a standardized but at the same time also broad product line.

Single-ended flexures from Riverhawk are attached or supported on one end so that the other end can rotate. The Cantilevered Pivots are used in such applications as mirror mounts, linkage systems, gimbal rings, vibration isolation systems and others. Standard Materials

Riverhawk use AISI 410 corrosion-resistant steel for the body of the Pivot and AISI 420 for the flexures. This applies to the brazed construction.

Torsional Spring Rates

TSR are usually within ±10% or less of the values, which you can see in the table below. For spring rate values below 0.0018 in-lb/deg the tolerances can be much larger. Get in touch with our engineering staff if closer tolerances or actual values are required.

Tighter Diameter Tolerances

If a diameter tolerance of +0.0000/-0.0002 inches (or other variation) is requiered, please contact our engineering staff and specify “T2” after the catalog number.

Electron Beam Welded Pivots

are available for applications with high applied loads and low rotational angles.
